In the mobile world war of the OS has become very prominent. When Google announced launch of latest Android Version 4.3 named KitKat, Microsoft reacted to the news and announced its own update to Windows 8 OS.

Mobile users prefer bigger display phones keeping this in mind Microsoft announced Windows 8 update for Smartphones. This recent update will make the OS compatible for smartphone with6 inch display or more. Microsoft is soon going to launch this updated. It is specifically designed to support 1080p full HD display so that more number of Tiles can fit in. Microsoft will launch Nokia Lumia 1520 within few months. This phone contains Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Quad Core processor. This update is developed around Lumia 1520.
Microsoft has already optimized Windows 8 for Smartphones with display of 5 inches and less. Microsoft had to develop this new update for 6 inch display phones as Samsung Galaxy Note has gained lot of popularity among users because of its bigger display.

The new update is only for mobiles having screen of 6 inches and is not compatible with mobile having displays bigger than 6 inches. If you want bigger display then you better purchase Windows tab.

The new update contains Driving Mode and it is one of the flagship features of this update. When the phone is kept in Driving Mode it will only display important things. As the name goes this mode is to be used during driving and by restricting info will help drivers so they don’t loss their concentration.

Other features include Screen Orientation Lock Button, Enhancement in connectivity of WiFi and Bluetooth, customizable ringtone for email and MMS, tool for managing storage space. Microsoft has also provided Screen Reader option to help blind peoples use the phone.
